Exploring Gila Archaeology

Youth from Deming, New Mexico, will get a unique opportunity to explore a live archaeological site in the Gila National Forest with the friendly experts at Archaeology Southwest.

We'll be excavating at a 14th-century archaeological site located on Nature Conservancy property along the upper Gila River, a great place to experience New Mexico archaeology and an important riverine ecosystem at the same time.

In partnership with the University of Arizona, Archaeology Southwest offer an archaeological field school for college students each year in Cliff, NM.
