Tierra Madre Hike at Kilbourne Hole

Join us for a morning hike to celebrate el Dia de Nuestra Tierra Madre at Kilbourne Hole in the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument.

The Chihuahuan Desert is full of dramatic geologic formations and sites that hold the secrets to the landscapes as we see them today.

In celebration of Earth Day,  BLM volunteer biologist Keith Davis will give a presentation on the geology of the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument at Kilbourne Hole, a rare volcanic crater in the Portillo Mountains that could be up to 80,000 years old. 

Come explore with your friends from Nuestra Tierra and join us for drinks and food at Spotted Dog after the hike!
